Supporting Applications to the Global Fund’s New Funding Model

18 avr 2014 | Under News | Posted by

From 14 – 17th April, the Roll Back Malaria Partnership’s Harmonization Working Group organized two workshops to support countries interested in applying to the Global Fund in 2014.

The first meeting focused on countries currently preparing applications for the May and June deadlines. These countries are making good progress in preparing concept notes which outline their priorities and strategies for combating malaria, in settings as varied as Nigeria to Swaziland.

The second meeting offered orientation on the new funding model requirements. The Global Fund, RBM, WHO, and other experts joined together to explain the new systems, as future applicants start down a road which is both familiar and new at the same time.

Having participated in support to countries preparing Global Fund grants for several years now, I was highly impressed by the energy and focus of the different representatives at these two meetings. It was inspiring to see the national delegations work late into the evening, debating and refining their proposals. We wish them success.
